19 Candles

17 March 2010

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

It is that time again, friends. I am one year closer to being more wise than I am now, which is about all I could say a year ago. It has been an interesting year. I learned a lot, traveled to new and unfamiliar places, met new people, and did things I had never dreamed of doing. In the past year, I have graduated from high school, finished my “first year” of college and a good portion of another, I have changed my major to something that makes me happier than anything else in this world, and begun to find my nitch in the world.

It is time to light a new candle in my life. May this one bring more light into my heart and into my soul. May this candle make my light bright enough to be seen. May this life be about God and not about me.

Namaste.
